TWI is pleased to announce that its fracture testing provision has been newly accredited to an ASTM International standard.
As of June 2016, ASTM E1820 has been added to TWI's UKAS accreditation schedule for fracture toughness testing. This means TWI is now accredited to all major British, ISO and American fracture toughness testing standards.
The full list of fracture toughness testing standards to which TWI is now accredited is as follows:
- BS 7448-1:1991
- BS 7448-4:1997
- ISO 12135:2002 Corr1
- BS EN ISO 15653:2010
- ASTM E1820-15a
TWI can perform fracture tests in welded and parent materials from 5mm to 150mm thick, at temperatures from -196°C to +350°C using a number of specimen designs. Also available is non-standard testing including environmental testing, full-scale testing, and bespoke testing solutions.
